DIY Traditional Blacksmith Forge Guide
Its printed title: The Architecture of the Traditional Forge: A Comprehensive Analysis of Historical and Repurposed Construction Modalities
A history and building guide for the coal forge, from Agricola and Moxon to a bottom-blast hearth made from a salvaged brake drum. It explains the three zones of the fire and how coal, coke and clinker differ, gives a clay lining tempered with horse manure, which it dries for five to seven days, and details two bellows, the double-lung accordion and the double-acting piston fuigo. Measures are in inches, temperatures and formulas went missing from the PDF text, and it is written for the hobbyist.
