Fish Salt and brine Smoke and the cure
The fish problem. Fresh-water fish from the Havel and the pond carry the broad tapeworm and the fluke. Chapter 10's rule is 60 degrees at the bone, or minus 20 degrees for a day through the thickest part, or salt hard and dry. Dill, vinegar and cold smoke do nothing, and the household after the Fall has no freezer. So a lightly cured pike is not safe, and the Evening's second course is not yet settled: cure it hard, serve the fish cooked, or keep only the hot-smoked eel. The rule is E5, the parasites are E3 and E4.
