Green Wood Carving Guide

Its printed title: The Mastery of Green Woodworking: A Comprehensive Guide to Carving, Curing, and Finishing Spoons, Spatulas, and Bowls

Spoons, spatulas and bowls carved from green wood in the slöjd tradition. Its notes on species favour apple, pear, cherry, birch and hard maple, keep ash for spatulas and rule out yew, red oak and softwoods, and it covers the pith and drying. It prefers drying oils such as raw linseed, which it says cures in two to ten weeks, to oils that never set, and gives a spoon butter of four to six parts oil to one of wax. Its timbers lean North American.
