Watering by gravity on dry sandy soil, through keyline design, swales, earth dams and tank-fed drip lines. It sets out Yeomans's scale of permanence and the keypoint for a dam, prefers UV-stabilised polyethylene pipe to PVC, and makes a practical point: pressure-compensating emitters, it says, need 5 to 10 m of head to open, so a tank 3 m up wants plain emitters, whose flow it puts up to 5 per cent higher as water warms. The emitter equation lost its symbols in the PDF text.
